Polaron formation, optical transitions, and transport mechanisms in bismuth vanadate (BiVO₄) polymorphs are systematically investigated via DFT+U. We elucidate the microscopic origin of polaron hopping barriers across monoclinic scheelite, tetragonal scheelite, and zircon phases.
